      Hi Lizzi
What a great question! I guess it depends what is on offer around your area – maybe ask your science teacher(s) they might know. Maybe you could talk to them about setting up your own science club at school – you could think of you own experiments to do, like trying to dust for finger prints like on CSI!!
When i was in my first year of A Levels (AS year now i think), i applied to do a nuffield bursary – this is where you go to a science company or university and carry out your own science project for 6 weeks over your summer holiday – i loved it and even got a job out of it. So maybe thats also something to think about when you get to that stage

      Hi lizzib,
Yes I’m sure there are clubs. Our secondary school is a specialist science school and they have Stem club on Thursdays it stands for science tech engineering and maths. I don’t know if it’s open to people who aren’t at the school. I guess they will have to be based in a school or uni, you can’t really go sloshing hydrochloric acid about in the village hall or scout hut can you?
Maybe one of the other scientists might know of things like science weeks for people like you that uni s in the holidays. Hope you find something.
I think that I got interefted in science at home really, I was allowed to stay up to watch a science programme called Horizon and although I was usually interested in staying up more than in the topic, it always turned out to by really good. It seemed to give me a bit of a head start when we came to do topics at school because I’d heard the basics before.:)

Hi Lizzi, I know I like it when I can actually do the experiments. I haven’t really heard of any science clubs, but scientists could visit your school and bring experiments for you to do. You could ask your teacher if they could arrange it. Here are some links for your teacher: (researcherinresidence.ac.uk, The Physiological Society). Maybe you could see if your school could visit a science fair at the local university or there is a national science fair each year (cheltenhamsciencefestivals.com).

I got into science because I really liked it at school. Also I was in a pony club and we learnt about how the horses body works and how to feed the horse which made me nterested in biology.
