      Hi Scientificmanic
I’m not sure there is an answer to that – the choice to go down the IVF or adoption route is very personal to the couple involved and i don’t think one is right and one is wrong – one route is “right” for each individual couple. Both options have their good points but both are very emotionally demanding too

There are a lot of children out there who’ve had pretty miserable lives with not much care or love or stability. I’d like to see time, people and £ available to support people adopting those children and getting the help they would need to make a new family together. Having said that the desire to have thrir ‘own’ child is very strong in some people. Personally I’d have been happy to adopt but my husband thought he’d be able to tolerate bad behavior better if he could see them as his own or my traits in the child. I don’t know if he still thinks the same when our youngest talks all the way through the footie (like me. :))

That is each persons individual choice, there is no right answer. For some people ivf might be better for them where as others might find adoption a better choice.
