Both really. I was good at science, but also art and maths. I really enjoyed science though so did science A levels and went from there!

I think if you are interested in something it’s easier to do well at it, perhaps it doesn’t seem to be so much like hard work. I wasn’t top in science by any means , I was/am a bit too rubbish at maths for that. I supposeI’ve always been fairly amazed by how thnigs work especially how in nature such complicated systems have developed flowers with only one type of insect that pollinates them, the way the human body keeps the water levels correct, the way your body knows straight away what changes to make when you get pregnant even though it’s not ever done it before, how the cells in the embryo decide which will become ears and which will be the liver etc etc ike

      Hi there,
To be honest, i didnt really have a passion for science at school — but i was nautrally quite good at physics and maths, in particular. Ironically, though, i was rubbish at biology, and ‘dropped’ it after GCSE. Funny now cos i teach it at university!

I really enjoyed science at school and found it interesting and so therefore i used to work quite hard at it and for that reason i got good marks – i’m not sure i have a particular flair for it, i just enjoy it and so put lots of effort into it 🙂
