Women stop having babies as a reuslt of the “menopause”, this happens essentially when the supply of eggs in the ovaries runs out and as a result their hormone levels change and these cause the physical changes experience during the menopause too (like hot sweats).
The age a woman goes through the menopause is different for every woman, but tends to be when they are in their 40’s or 50’s (but having a child gets more difficult as the womans gets in her 30’s). Th age of menopause tends to be similar to that of your mother

A woman naturally stops producing eggs in her late 40s. On average,by the time they are 52 most women can’t have a baby any more. I can’t remember if they run out or whether the remaining eggs are just too poor quality- Greg will probably know
Once a woman gets to about 38 her chance of having a baby starts to fall

A woman naturally stops having babies when she has the menapause (stops having periods and producing eggs). The average age for this is 51, but for some this can be in their fourties and others it could be in their late fifties. Some woman may not be able to have babies and this can be discovered at any age.
