Young people rarely need IVF unless there is something wrong because fo another diesase. Most people wouldn’t offer IVF to someone under 25 unless this was the case. For example a very young man might have damaged sperm and so his partner might need to have a special type of IVF in which one single sperm is injected into the egg.

oh, i don’t know – maybe one of the more clinical scientists could answer – maybe 18, but you have to prove you have been trying for a baby unsuccessfully for a number of years before you will get referred for infertility treatment

People have ivf because they cannot have a baby natrually, so they need to have been trying for a while. Leagally it is over 16 for treatment but they have to have shown that they cannot have babies without help. The youngest ivf patient in the uk had a baby at 30 years old but she started having treatment at 17.
